Gestalt Media House was engaged to produce the launch creative for House of Mauka — the first body of work the label would be seen through. A campaign film and a set of editorial stills, built as one shoot rather than two.

The objective was to establish the brand image at launch: a single body of creative that positions the label as a bespoke house rather than a retailer, and that carries the Indian and Western duality visually instead of explaining it in copy.

One shoot, not two

Single production day, single crew, dual capture. Motion and stills were pulled from the same set, the same lighting build and the same talent block, so the film and the website imagery would read as one campaign rather than two shoots stitched together.

That is the whole argument for running them together. A launch has to look like a launch on every surface at once — and it will not if the film and the photographs were lit on different days by different people.

Two suits, one figure

The set carries two tailored looks — a rust double-breasted suit and a cream one — worked against the same warm gradient backdrop, the same gold hoop and the same length of red sheer drape. One figure, one room, and the wardrobe doing the changing.

Close enough to read the make

A bespoke house is judged at close range, so the coverage runs down to it: the pocket and the lapel, the scarf against the collar, the jaw above a turtleneck. The same frames serve the film and the stills set, which is what one lighting build buys you.

Launch creative

Everything on this page came off one production day. The film and the stills share a set, a light and a talent block, which is the only way a launch reads as one thing across a website, a feed and a lookbook at the same time.

If you are launching a label and need the whole first impression made at once, the call is fifteen minutes. Tell us about the project.
